The Salem Health and Wellness Foundation announced its 2024 Matching Gift Program awards this past week. Since 2010, the Foundation has awarded matching gift grants to a wide range of local nonprofits that address health and wellness challenges in Salem County. This competitive funding program allows organizations to expand their donor base and access other resources for general operating expenses. Each organization will receive up to $20,000 in matching funds for general operating expenses and special projects.
The Foundation will provide matching funds to the following grantees:
The Arc of Salem County
This ARC helps people with disabilities realize their personal, social, vocational, and educational goals through advocacy, education, leadership, and services for individuals and families.
Appel Farm Arts and Music Center
Appel Farm Arts and Music Center offers arts programming, such as Arts Labs, Arts Fest, Healthy HeARTS, and more, to Salem County residents. The Center is expanding its scope on programs in Salem County.
City of Salem
This grant will be used as a match for a federal planning grant that will impact housing needs for Salem City residents.
Cornerstone Women’s Resource Center
Cornerstone Women’s Resource Center offers services such as parenting and life skills classes, recovery from pregnancy loss, prevention education, and other services to pregnant women and their newborns. The matching grant will be for general expenses.
Famcare
This grant will enable Famcare to provide accessible, high-quality, confidential reproductive and complementary healthcare and educational to Salem County residents- a priority population for the Salem Health and Wellness Foundation.
Friends Village
Friends Village provides residential and healthcare options to older adults in Salem County, engaging in areas of wellness such as physical, social, vocational, spiritual, emotional, and environmental.
Habitat for Humanity of Salem County, NJ
This grant enables Habitat for Humanity to expand critical home repairs for Veterans who do not qualify for VA programs. The organization has extensive volunteer support from the Salem community.
Ranch Hope
Ranch Hope provides residential, educational, and community-based behavioral health services to Salem County residents and other youth from around New Jersey. This is a grant for general operating expense.
Revive South Jersey
This grant will enable Revive South Jersey to offer a myriad of programs to Salem County children and families, including karate, dance, art therapy, pre-military and mechanic training, and more. Family advocacy services are also provided to participants. The primary focus will be their youth development efforts in the City of Salem.
SHADOW Equestrian
SHADOW Equestrian is a leader in therapeutic riding instruction for physically and mentally disabled children at a low cost. This grant is for general expenses.
